Chapter Five
We pulled up to a chalet and I laughed out loud.
“What’s so funny, love?” Aaron asked. He helped me down out of the truck and I took a better look.
“Is this a hotel? I mean, I don’t mind if you don’t want to bring me home,” I said, taking in the massive log structure. It was enormous, set up against the back of a mountain. One of those custom log structures that’s all floor to ceiling windows and exposed beams. Something I would have drooled over a million times on Pinterest.
“This here is home,” Evan said and came around the truck, taking my hand. Aaron kept his arm around me and we walked up the sweeping front steps.
“You’re kidding, right?” I said again, trying to understand the enormity of their log mansion.
“We’re not kidding,” Aaron said, “we built it a couple years back hoping we’d eventually find our mate and have a family here.”
“So this is…” I didn’t finish. Evan opened the massive front doors, they were a carved darker wood, and the scale of the house overwhelmed me.
“We’ll tell Sarah to bring your things tomorrow, give you some time to settle in,” Evan said.
“What do you mean? I’m not moving in,” I protested.
“Yes you are,” Aaron said in his serious voice, “you’re our mate.”
“What my overly eager brother means, is that yes, you are our mate. We would like it if you would move in here and get to know us at your own pace. Let us woo you and let our biological connection grow into an emotional one,” Evan interjected.
“This is all a bit much, guys,” I said and looked around again, feeling like a rubber necking idiot. The main hall looked like something out of a Viking’s wet dream, polished hardwood floors extending for what seemed like miles, deer antler chandeliers hung from a ceiling that had to be three stories high. A ceiling high fieldstone fireplace dominated the living room.
“You will have your own quarters,” Aaron explained, “this center portion is yours. We will provide you with anything you need. Money, a new truck, clothes, if you want it, it’s yours.”
“I don’t want your charity,” I said, still a little breathless.
“It’s not charity, Megan,” Evan said, “everything we own is yours now. We belong to you as much as you belong to us. We would lay down our lives to protect you, and this extends to your comfort. We are not happy unless you are completely satisfied.”
If I hadn’t felt that deep, feral, gut connection to them, I would have thought Sarah had them pranking me. But I felt it, it was real. When I’d orgasmed with them, it had solidified the elusive sensation that had been growing inside of me in the pub. It had cemented my need for them, my tether to both of these incredible, handsome men.
Who just happened to be millionaires. Or billionaires from the looks of it.
And bears.
I laughed and said, “Okay, where’s my room? You both know I couldn’t walk away from you guys even if I tried.
